Yesterday a green sea turtle, nicknamed in Thai Loong (“uncle”) was released back into the ocean after being treated for injuries in the last couple of month at Phuket Marine Biological Center.

The turtle is approximately 50 years old 1 meter long and weighs 120 kg. Phuket based Marine inspectors rescued the animal of Koh Bon in April this year, where it was tied to an anchor line not able to free itself. The committers of this act had fled the scene and left the turtle to almost die.

Now that all wounds have healed and Loong is strong as before, 200 people were witness when he was returned to his “home” of Cape Panwa on Phuket.
